Molly and Jim Papadopoulos started FORMA to slow down and make long lasting objects. After purchasing a custom furniture business from retiring artist Richard Judd, they wanted to create a brand centered around Jim’s furniture designs while still offering customers pieces from Richard’s collection. FORMA turned to Paper Robot to help them do exactly that.
Bespoke Logo and Streamlined Website Design
FORMA needed a fresh identity and a brand new website that showcased their products, as well as educated potential clients about the process of purchasing custom furniture. Paper Robot engaged the artists in exploratory conversations and thoughtful exercises to help guide their collaboration and ensure their vision was accurately represented in our design work. Our CD crafted a logo inspired by the wood burning brand Jim was using to mark his products, and established a professional identity for FORMA that balanced their modern designs with a retro-inspired feel that Jim and Molly felt embodied their aesthetic.
In building the website, Paper Robot created a minimalist design that allows the gorgeous furniture and exotic wood veneers to be the hero of each page, and which allowed visitors to quickly navigate to the gallery or informational pages. We also established a uniform format for displaying their product pages, and took the time to train FORMA on the backend, empowering the small business to update their pages and add products as needed.
